A recently created 100-acre country park alongside Great Notley Garden Village on the outskirts of Braintree. It has two lakes, several new copses planted on top of earth mounds, hay and wildflower meadows. Already skylarks and reed buntings have colonised the site, and its wildlife value can only grow as it matures. It has a centre with cafe and a number of play areas.
The Discovery Centre embodies sustainable principles such as solar heating and a wind turbine, and provides interpretation and other facilities for visitors.
Braintree District and Essex County Councils have recently agreed to manage the site and centre jointly
