This long narrow common is a flower-rich grassland bounded by ancient hedgerows. It is managed by local residents.

Notable plants that grow here include sulphur clover and lady's bedstraw, and occasionally bee orchids. The thick hedges provide good nesting habitat, and turtle doves – a bird in steep decline – have nested here recently. The pond supports great crested newts.

From Great Dunmow head north along the B1057 towards Finchingfield and, beyond Duck End, turn off left into Lindsell. From Lindsell, Daisyley Road leads up to Bustard Green.

Accessible at all times.
